City of Morehead Facility COVID-19 Update

In the wake of the COVID-19 virus, the City of Morehead City Hall will be open to the public by appointment only beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. City Hall employees will be available by calling 606-784-8505. All employees will report to work, but following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it is best to limit interaction with the public to keep all services functional.

The City of Morehead is closing the Laughlin Health Building for public use and suspending the activity of all city sports leagues until April 3, 2020. All upstairs reserved events will still be permitted. Peggy’s Place and Carl Perkins Center reservations will not change at this time. City and Community Park recreation facilities, including the playground, all fields, skatepark and basketball courts will be closed to the public until April 3, 2020.

Parks and Recreation has postponed youth league sports programs, including indoor soccer, youth volleyball, and secondary basketball. A revaluation will occur on April 3, 2020. Until then, there will be no games or practices for these leagues. Staff will notify all baseball and softball leagues will of any changes by Parks and Recreation staff.
