Response funds awarded to local nonprofits

MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Morehead-Rowan County COVID-19 Response Fund, a charitable fund established by the Rowan County Community Fund, will provide critical support to vulnerable populations in Morehead and Rowan County who are adversely affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Your donations to this charitable fund will provide grants to nonprofit organizations in Rowan County with strong experience delivering services related to food, healthcare, childcare, transportation and the elderly. 

As of April 28, 2020, $11,500 in grants have been awarded to local 501(c)(3) organizations to address needs in Morehead and Rowan County.

Gateway Area Development

$1,000 was awarded to provide 100 emergency kits for senior citizens.

Gateway Homeless Coalition

$2,500 awarded for the purchase of food.

Bluebank Church Ministry

$3,000 awarded for food boxes that feed 58 regional families identified by the Rowan Co. Schools’ family resource center as in-need. $5,000 was awarded to assist the food pantry program.
