COVID-19 total in Rowan County reaches 18

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Rowan County today. The latest cases bring Rowan county’s total to eighteen, seven of which are out of isolation and have recovered, leaving 11 active cases. Additional information regarding the individuals will not be released out of respect for them and compliance with medical privacy law.

As previously stated, additional cases are to be expected and both the county and city are prepared. The recent spike in cases are believed to be dated back to Memorial Day weekend. We have been able to keep our positive case number so low due to the tremendous job our community has done with social distancing, however with good weather and the reopening of facilities please continue to practice proper hygiene and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Kentucky Department of Public Health (KDPH).
