City Park Playground Temporary Closure

On Monday, September 30, 2024 the City Park Playground will close for the season. The playground will be going through extensive renovations during this off-season. The playground will re-open in Spring 2025. We appreciate the community’s patience during this time and will be excited to see the improved area. Read More

National GED Day Proclamation

Monday, September 16, 2024 has been proclaimed by Mayor Laura White-Brown and Rowan County Judge Exec. Harry Clark as National GED Day. The Morehead State University Adult Education Program in Rowan County has offered free GED preparation services in the Commonwealth since 1967, and is the first county here to do so. The GED test plays a crucial role in providing individuals with the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency credential, opening doors to higher education, better employment opportunities and increased economic mobility. Youth Basketball Sign Ups Begin September 4

Morehead Parks and Recreation Department announce youth winter basketball signups beginning Wednesday, September 4- Friday, October 4, 2024. Leagues will be available for the following: 1st & 2nd Grade Co-Ed 3rd- 5th Grade Girls3rd- 4th Grade Boys5th- 6th Grade Boys Price for the season will be $45, with the exception of 1st and 2nd Co-Ed League which is $40.
