Parks & Recreation
In 1971 the Morehead City Park was established. 3 years later a Parks and Recreation Committee was formed. This committee established Morehead’s first city administrator to oversee our park and all of the activities involved with the park. The creation of a full -time Recreation Director was put into action in 1982.
Today, our Parks and Recreation Department, under the supervisor of Director Matt Hamilton, oversees more than 20 sports programs, multiple parks and facilities, a senior citizens program, the Sheltowee Falls splash pad, and continues to improve and grow our sports and facilities.
